Richmond Hill Inn is closed for the winter and will reopen the first weekend in April. Thank you to all our guests, it was pleasure to serve. We look forward to your stays with us in 2010.

Traveler's Advisory: I-40 Rock Slide

We look forward to your upcoming stay at Richmond Hill Inn. If you should be traveling by automobile please be aware a rock slide has occurred on I-40 at mile marker 3 – covering both lanes and closing the interstate.

From the North Carolina Department of Transportation: Both directions of I-40 are closed between Exit 20, west of Asheville in North Carolina, and Exit 421 (I-81 Interchange) east of Knoxville in Tennessee because of a rock slide at mile marker 2.6 on I-40 in North Carolina. The road is not expected to reopen for several months.

The following eastbound detour is recommended by the Tennessee Department of Transportation: Traffic is being detoured onto Interstate 81 where motorists can take Interstate 26 to Asheville, then take I-240 back onto I-40. Your drive will be increased by 53 miles.

We apologize if this is an inconvenience. It is our hope you will find this a fun excursion to see a beautiful part of North Carolina slightly off the beaten path and you arrive ready for a pampered relaxing visit with us.
